Well, after avoiding eye contact with the finished film for more than a month now, I've finally gathered up the courage to compress and upload it onto the site! It's done, finished, how wonderful! Now I just need to find myself a job...

9 - 4 - 2005

I've added three more images to the screen shots page.

Progress is proving slower than I would like. I find myself being distracted by sudden urges to re-arrange my room and thoroughly clean the window sill...

Hopefully now that I've done all that, I'll get more work done...

5 - 4- 2005

I've uploaded the first draft of the animation. Give it a look and tell me what you think! I hope to get back to it, so any comments will be useful.

I've written a page about the animation too...

4 - 4 - 2005

Right, I haven't added much to this site lately... that'll be because I'm too busy working on the film.

I've finished animating the characters, but I don't want to show you that yet because it'll spoil the surprise of the completed film.

But I'll give you a few spoilers. At the moment I'm working my way through the scenes, making the backgrounds and lights. I'll be posting up images of those scenes as they progress (though I might keep the juiciest bits for you to see in the final film...)

12 - 3 - 2005

Today has been a good day. I've got a lot of animation done, and spent the evening updating the site. The "making the comic" page now has images, and there's a page on colouring the comic which goes into a lot more detail. I've also added a page on the dreaded page 8, which contains a little flip-book of the different stages page 8 went through...

10 - 3 - 2005

I've added the page about the changes I made to Dreg's head...

Ah, I've also managed to screw up this site. I'm trying to get organised, and I did the sensible-sounding thing of sticking all of the pages into different folders. Dreamweaver dutifully updated the pages that needed updating, or so I thought. So, if any of you encounter broken links, please e-mail me, because they seem to be everywhere...

9 - 3 - 2005

Oh dear. Still haven't started working on the major... it's hard jumping from one project to the next. I'm still in "comic book mode". As a result, I've made the characters page... but I'll have to get back to the major project tomorrow. Promise!

Also, I need to go back to the comic making of page... to add the pictures (but Adam is a light sleeper and he attacked me ferociously when I tried to use his scanner last night... I'm thinking tranquiliser darts are the solution), but also to go into a little more detail about colouring the comic. I didn't do so because, well, I got so worked up writing about scanning in those pages, that I didn't have enough energy afterwards to write much more. One day I'll go back to it...

Oh yeah, I also need to eventually upload the other project I'd been working on... but that means leaving this computer to render the film for a few hours... bleh...

8 - 3 - 2005

Well. Thought I'd have a "break" and work a bit on this site. I've added information about the comic- namely a section on the plot, and a very long "making of". Unfortunately, at the moment the "making of" doesn't contain images, because Adam is jealously guarding his scanner and biting. So I'll try again later (I find that tying him up and gagging him while he's sleeping tends to do the trick).

3 - 3 - 2005

The comic book is finished! Wahey! Yes! Now I need to write the report. Bugger.

Anyway, read the comic strip.

2 - 3 - 2005

I've added three more pages now. I'm getting very keen on mauve...

1 - 3 - 2005

Two more comic book pages added. I didn't add two yesterday because yesterday I worked on pages 15 and 16... this is because they have the same colour palette as the first few pages.

My big achievement of the day (the year, more like it) is having completed the dreaded page 8. Now there's a job that needed all the resources I had...

once again, you can read the comic book here.

27 - 2 - 2005

I've added two more pages to the comic strip... only ten more to go!

26 - 2 - 2005

Ok, I've been neglecting this site miserably. In my defence, I have added the odd thing- you can see a runcycle for Dreg in the films section, and a picture of Dreg scratching his armpit in the images section... why? Well I wanted to write a page that explains it, but unfortunately I'm so swamped in work I can't really spend the time this site needs...

But I have been working, and I'm taking a small "break" to upload the first four pages of my comic strip. I have about ten days to do the remaining 12 pages (shudder)...

17 - 1 - 2005

The goon has arrived! I've added a making of page for him, as well as a high res image of him. I also added a section about why I was doing a comic strip in the about section, and a page on the music. That should keep the men with hairy knuckles at bay for a while, I hope...

16 - 1 - 2005

Ok, so it's January the 16th... a month and ten days since my last update of this site. I know, it's ridiculous, but I have been away for the holidays, and in my defense, I'm lazy.

But it seems that certain elements (my younger brother) are consistently demanding that I update this site, and though I have the rather silly feeling that I should only update the site if I have anything of any substance to show, I'm writing this BS so as to fend off the large men with hairy knuckles Nicky has hired to “convince” me that I should add something to this site.

All I have at the moment is a few stupidly large comic book pages drawn which I can't get into the computer (and don't want to, anyway, until I ink them in) and a half rigged goon (and as is becoming increasingly clear to me, an unfinished rig for Dreg). So what do I do? Sure I could write a lot of things about what I'm up to, but they'll be out of date in days. I'd rather write about the goon when he's finished, and write about the comic strip as soon as I have something to show. I guess I could upload a few sketches, but that requires getting Adam to leave his room so that I can use his scanner, and ever since the mayonnaise incident, he won't let me touch it.

I guess I could rant about random things for a while. Like why is it that I can never get on with work, and keep on finding myself avoiding work by doing mind numbingly stupid things, like this? I think it has something to do with the excruciating pain that is rigging... something I hope to be slowly reaching the end of (I hope). Tempting providence? You bet.

Anyway, I've added a section in the “about” section about my course, for those of you who are interested...

Tomorrow, or the day after, you'll get a making of the goon page... and possibly something on the comic strip. Depends on how lazy I feel.

6 - 12 - 2004

I won't be updating this regularly in the future, but there's a lot of stuff I want to get onto this site, and I've done some of that today... there's a new section now on the site (the progress one) which has the epic "Making Dreg" and "Terminology" pages.

5 - 12 - 2004

Ok, so I've taken my sweet time, but now I've finally got something which is resembling a site. This is definitely the sort of thing I need; I've always wanted to stress about how little I've been updating... in any case, I think this is a big improvement on the old site.

I'm way too lazy to figure out how to get a guest book or forum-type thing on this site. If you want to make a comment, you can e-mail me, or make a coment on the WIP thread for this project on the ncca forum.
